DE Fastlink is committed to delivering high-speed, reliable internet while ensuring a safe and lawful online environment for all our subscribers. We want to remind subscribers of the importance of adhering to our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and Terms and Conditions of Service Agreement, which prohibit the use of our network to infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.
Specifically:
Paragraph 8 of the AUP explicitly prohibits any activities that infringe on the copyrights of others.
Paragraph 7 of the Terms and Conditions of Service Agreement reinforces this by barring the use of our services for illegal downloading or sharing of copyrighted content.
What Does This Mean for Subscribers?
Activities such as downloading or sharing copyrighted videos using BitTorrent or similar platforms violate these policies. While these services may be used for legitimate purposes, they are frequently associated with illegal activities like the unauthorized distribution of copyrighted movies, TV shows, and other media.
Be aware: Movie and TV companies actively monitor BitTorrent and other file-sharing platforms to identify cases of copyright infringement. They often use these tools themselves to track illegal downloads. In fact, DE Fastlink typically receives a violation notification about three minutes after a customer starts downloading copyrighted content.
We take this matter very seriously. Subscribers found using BitTorrent or any other means to engage in copyright infringement risk suspension or termination of their internet service.
Stay Informed and Responsible
We encourage our customers to use DE Fastlink’s services responsibly and lawfully. If you have any questions about our policies or need clarification, please refer to the full Acceptable Use Policy and Terms and Conditions of Service Agreement on our website.
Together, we can ensure a fair and safe internet experience for everyone.
